Making a machete knife with your own hands in a home workshop is quite realistic. Moreover, the material for its manufacture can be found without much effort. Specifically, in this case, the author uses a piece of an old rusty saw.

The machete knife, due to its large size, is perfect for cutting low-growing shrubs in a summer cottage or on a hike.

First of all, you need to draw a form on paper, and then transfer the template to the saw. The template must be outlined either with a marker or spray paint.

The main stages of work

At the next stage, the workpiece will need to be cut from the saw blade using a grinder. And then we process it on a grinding machine (grinder).

After that, the author cuts out a wooden handle for a machete and drills holes in it. Then the workpiece must be cut lengthwise into two halves.

Then comes the most crucial moment in the work - the formation of descents and sharpening of the blade. Next, we attach the halves of the handle to the tail of the knife. It is best to use epoxy glue for this purpose.

In the end, it remains only to process the wooden handle on the grinding machine and cover it with varnish. You can also use mineral oil.
