Such a homemade car jack is compact in size and simple in design. To make it, you will need a minimum of materials that are easy to find in a garage or home workshop.

Of course, for heavy SUVs and vans, a mechanical screw jack should not be used - it simply can not cope with the load. However, for small passenger cars this is a great budget solution.

We make a screw jack: the main stages of work

First, we cut off a steel tube of a suitable diameter of about 20-25 cm in length. Then we weld it to a square plate (the base of the screw jack). We clean the surface with a grinding disc. For the second part of the construction, a long bolt with nut and washer will be required.

The mechanical screw jack works very simply. We put a washer on top of the pipe, and then insert a bolt into it, on which the nut is screwed. We install this design in the edge of the threshold (as close as possible to the wheel that you will change). Using a nut, adjust the height of the vehicle.

Summing up today's homemade

If on the road you punctured a wheel, then with the help of a homemade mechanical screw jack, you can easily replace it. This is a useful, practical and easy-to-use tool that is useful to every car owner.
