Unlike brick ovens, a sauna stove-heater made of metal has more compact dimensions.

This is very important, given the small area of the steam room in the bath. In addition, there is no need to lay the foundation for it.

In this review, the author shows how you can make a compact sauna heater with your own hands for a steam room.

It is made of a metal pipe with a diameter of 426 mm. Such a stove will be enough for a room with an area of 18-20 sq.m.

First of all, the author cuts a blank of the desired shape using a plasma cutter and makes it a “seat” under the grate.

Please note that the grate is purchased - it is inexpensive. Doors for a stove-heater are also purchased: cast iron with glass.

The main stages of work

At the next stage, the author cuts a piece in a pipe with a diameter of 426 mm and installs a combustion chamber. The protrusion of the furnace in this case is 20 cm.

The heater is made of a piece of pipe with a diameter of 325 mm. The pipe is welded into the main pipe with a diameter of 426 mm - it will be necessary to cut a "window" in it. A cast-iron door will also be attached to the heater.

A heat exchanger is installed inside the combustion chamber. The author decided to use a stainless steel tube heat exchanger.

Outside the furnace, a grid for laying stones is welded around the perimeter. The width of the mesh is 12 cm. It is made of metal strips.

In the upper part of the furnace there is a chimney from a 114 mm pipe and a piece of a thick-walled pipe that is welded into the far part of the heater - steam from the stones will pass through it.
