Such a marching candle will help you quickly light a fire, with which you can easily cook food, boil water in marching conditions.
There are times when you need to urgently light a fire, and the firewood is either absent altogether or wet from the rain and is in no way suitable for making a fire. In these cases, this camping candle will help you out. A kind of analogue of dry alcohol for tourists.

Her advantages:
  • - does not take up much space in the backpack,
  • - does not leak, since it does not have liquid combustible fuel,
  • - easy to manufacture and does not require expensive components,
  • - waterproof and not damp, which is very important,
  • - the shelf life is not limited,
  • - safe, since it is not explosive and does not ignite spontaneously,
  • - a long burning time, which is great for cooking.

Great thing for winter fishing, where there is no firewood at hand.

What is needed to make a candle?

  • - tin can;
  • - any corrugated cardboard from boxes;
  • - paraffin candles, household candles or briquettes of paraffin or wax.

Instruments:
  • - ordinary scissors or a round knife as in my case, a ruler, a pencil, a container for melting paraffin.

Making a camping candle for long burning

We take a tin can, put it on cardboard. This is necessary in order to determine the width of the strips into which we will cut the cardboard. There are two indicators: if you take the width of the cardboard slightly wider than the can, the flame will burn more intensely, and if less, then the burning will be slightly worse, but more economical. It is up to you to decide which goals to use. I took a little wider cans.
In general, cardboard will act as a wick in this candle.

Cut strips of corrugated cardboard.

We turn these strips into the "snail" and insert the jar.

It is not necessary to insert tightly, rather everything should be free. Just put the twisted kruglyash.

Take a bucket or pan. We put candles or briquettes of paraffin. We melt on fire.

Since I took candles - wicks float in paraffin. You can remove them, they are not needed.
Pour paraffin into a jar of cardboard in several wards.

Fill it for the first time and wait a little while paraffin (wax) flows down the cans and soaks into the cardboard. Then we repeat several times until the bank is completely filled.

At the final stage, insert the wick made of the same cardboard into the center. With it, you can quickly light a candle.
Leave to cool. Despite the size, it will take a long time.

Candle test

I will put a pot of water on the bricks and put a candle at the bottom. In field conditions, you can take long cans instead of bricks.

We light the wick of the candle. After 3 minutes, the candle completely flared up. The pot, with about three liters of water, boiled in less than half an hour. This is a great result.
