How to make folding construction goats from a professional pipe

Often when performing repair and finishing work, it is required to rise to a certain height. And if you can screw a light bulb into a cartridge by climbing onto a chair, and cover the crack on the wall with an ordinary stepladder, then plastering, puttying, painting and other work require more mobility.

And in this case, the most practical solution is to use construction goats. And if you need compact goats folding design, then you can do it yourself - for example, from shaped pipes.

For the manufacture of collapsible construction gantries, profile square tubes with sides 25x25 mm, round pipes with an inner diameter of 25 mm and ¾, as well as segments of a steel strip 30x4 mm 33 cm long and "shorties" 40x4 mm, will be required. To connect the structural elements, we will use bolts with M10 nuts.

Folding construction goats: manufacturing process

From the inch pipe we cut two identical segments to which we weld the “legs” from the pipe by ¾. All three elements are fixed on a three-quarter pipe, which is inserted inside the inch. The result should be something like a swivel. The other two “legs” are welded to a pipe with a diameter of 25 mm.

Lintels are made of profile pipes, and we fix steel plates on the side, fixing them with M10 bolts with nuts and thumbs. We weld rectangular five-copecks made of 40x4 mm plates to the legs of a building goat. Then we grind and paint the surface.

Such home-made construction goats differ in a rather simple folding mechanism, and at the same time are transportable - they will not take up much space in the trunk of a car. Foldable design simplifies their transportation and storage. See the video on our website for the manufacturing process of these folding goats.
