Using this homemade desktop machine, you can cut both profile and round pipes (that is, steel hollow products), and all-metal billets: plates, angles, square and round bars, blanks, etc. A single-phase motor is used as an electric manual hacksaw drive 900 rpm

Belt pulleys are machined on an aluminum lathe. A small pulley with a diameter of 30 mm is installed on the drive shaft of the electric motor, while a larger pulley with a diameter of 128 mm stands on the driven shaft.

Machine design features

A T-shaped steel plate cut from a metal sheet 4-6 mm thick is used as the base of a tabletop electric saw. The engine itself is mounted on a wide platform, and on the narrow plate - a crank block with a saw and a small vice for fixing workpieces.

The hacksaw is mounted on a wide U-shaped frame, which is mounted on a guide from a profile pipe 20x20 mm. The frame is connected through a crank to the driven shaft. At the bottom of the base there are rubber “pads” on the legs so that the platform does not move around the table during operation. It also helps to reduce vibration from the machine.
