Before gluing wallpaper (paper, non-woven, vinyl, textile and others), it is necessary to properly prepare the surface of the walls. First of all, the walls in the room, which will then be pasted with wallpaper, must be primed.
And note that we select the soil itself, depending on the type of plaster: gypsum or cement-sand. Then, polymer putty must be applied to the previously prepared wall surface.
There are several types of polymer putty: dry mix and ready-made. Remember, if a bucket with prepared putty has been stored in a warehouse for a long time (it can be checked by production date), then it must be mixed before use.
What you need to do before wallpapering
After the putty has dried, it is imperative to polish the surface of the wall with a grater and fine sandpaper. Movements should be circular. In the corners, it is advisable to use special graters in the form of a sponge. They are more convenient to use than just sandpaper, folded in several layers.
Using a broom or brush, we sweep away dust from the surface of the walls, after which we apply a primer to improve adhesion to the surface of the wallpaper. To apply the primer, we use brushes and rollers.
Just before wallpapering, it is imperative to get rid of the draft in the room, and if there is no floor covering, lay a plastic film as well. Well, then you can glue the wallpaper. You can see more about this in this video.
