To combat rust on metal, special chemicals are sold (for example, the Zinkar rust converter). However, does it make sense to overpay when you can achieve a similar result using more affordable means that are always at hand?

Judge for yourselves: “Tsinkar” with a capacity of 0.5 liters costs about 120 rubles, while half a liter of table vinegar will cost three times cheaper (the price of a bottle is 35 rubles).

Moreover, when using vinegar, rust on metal products is removed no worse than if you remove it with “Tsinkarem”.

How to clean metal from rust with vinegar?

In fact, the method is very simple: you just need to put rusty parts (nuts, bolts and other small things in a container, pour vinegar so that it completely covers them, and then leave it to "rest" for 24 hours.

After a day has passed, we drain the dirty vinegar and wipe the parts with a rag. As a result, they acquire a new shine.

Please note: if the parts are very rusty, then they must first be sanded with sandpaper. By the way, large details after the vinegar bath will additionally need to be treated with a cord brush for a better appearance.

Large metal products can be wrapped with a rag soaked in vinegar, and also left for a day. To remove the foci of rust on large objects that are problematic to dip into a container or wrap with a cloth, we act a little differently.

Just pour vinegar into the place of corrosion, wait a couple of hours, and then remove the rust mechanically. However, in this case, more intensive cleaning is required.
