Are you planning to decorate the interior of the house with some simple, but at the same time interesting decor? Then you have come to the address. In this review, we bring to your attention a great idea - decorative coasters made of epoxy resin and wood.

They can be used in the kitchen - as coasters for glasses or bowls. Also, they will be appropriate to look in other rooms - for example, as stands for flower pots.

To make decorative coasters, the author uses fruit tree branches. On a band saw or manually, they will need to be cut into circles.

The main stages of work

In the next step, rings (approximately 2-3 cm wide) will need to be cut from a plastic pipe of a suitable diameter. The author uses them as forms.

It is necessary to make a cut in plastic rings, and the lower part must be pasted with adhesive tape. We install forms on a flat surface - laminated particleboard or particleboard, moisture-proof plywood, tile. In a circle we apply sealant.

The author processes the bottom and walls of the molds with a release agent so that the epoxy does not stick. Next, mix the epoxy with the hardener in the desired proportion, and fill it into molds.

It’s not necessary to fill the entire form at once. First, pour 1/3, lay the wooden mugs, and then add to the top or to the level you need.

After the epoxy hardens, it removes the product from the mold. Thanks to the cut made earlier, it will be completely uncomplicated. Finished products must be sanded and polished.
