Loft style is a brutal rough surface of metal, concrete or wood. And in this review, the author shows how to create an imitation of rusty iron using plaster.
This texture looks very unusual and original, and can become a separate decoration of the interior.
The first thing you need is a finishing putty. We apply it with a layer of about 3 mm, and you do not need to try to make a perfectly smooth surface.
Now on a wet composition you need to create an invoice. To do this, make prints with a piece of polystyrene foam. A similar effect can be achieved with a dense brush, but the process will last longer.
Wait about 15-20 minutes before proceeding to the next step. You can diversify the relief by tightly pressing the trowel to the putty and pulling it on yourself.
So part of the material will remain on it, forming a recess, as if the metal has crumbled. Then you need to nail the plaster in some places with a slightly moistened brush, bypassing the zones of the resulting voids.
The main stages of work
Now you can proceed to painting, or apply an additional pattern with a stencil. Paint the soil with blue and green paint, this will create a patina effect.
Next will be a layer of azure with a mixture of red and brown. Apply a color with a dry sponge, leaving a turquoise underton in the recesses.
Then add marble chips to the azure. It can be replaced with fine river or quartz sand. This will create the effect of a loose, easily crumbling surface.
Now, to speed up the work, dip one side of the sponge in dark red and the other in orange. From above, all bright colors are muffled slightly with a mixture of brown with black and blue.
At the last stage, make a couple of small accents with a golden dye, and you're done. If you want to add surfaces of greater decorativeness, you can make some volumetric elements at the initial stage of work using an emery mesh and a stencil.
Of course, an entire wall with such a texture is hardly suitable for a living room. But such elements fit perfectly into the loft style, because the reception can also be repeated on furniture or utensils.
