Brick tandoor stove is increasingly gaining popularity among owners of summer cottages and private homes.

However, it is not surprising, because in the tandoor you can cook very juicy kebabs, as well as delicious cakes and pita bread.

In this review, the author tells how to make a tandoor brick oven with your own hands. If interested, read on.

Preparatory work

As a house or other construction begins with the foundation, so does the construction of a tandoor furnace begin with the foundation.

To begin with, we determine the place on the site where the tandoor furnace will be located.

Then we dig out the soil under the base, deepening by about 20-30 cm, lay the reinforcing cage and fill everything with concrete. Next, we start laying brick.

Design features

The tandoor oven has an octagonal shape. It is made of refractory (fireclay) brick.

Please note that a regular brick in this case will not work, as it will constantly crack and crumble.

You can, of course, use stove brick, but fireclay will still be more reliable, although it costs more.

In this design of the tandoor furnace, only 11 tiers of brick are provided.

Of these, 9 tiers are of the same diameter, and the last 2 tiers have gradually decreased.

The lid of the tandoor furnace is made of ordinary square paving slabs. In the middle, a door handle is attached to the bolts.

The “door” of the blower is made of a piece of fireclay brick, to which a door handle is attached to the anchors.
