There are several options for preparing kvass, one of which is the method described below. Delicious kvass can be made from ordinary chicory. The result will exceed all expectations. The main advantage for the cook is that you don’t have to spend a lot of time preparing the sourdough, as it happens with bread kvass. In addition, chicory kvass has a good effect on the functioning of the heart and cleanses the intestines quite well. A chilled drink will give a large charge of energy to the body and improve human performance! Such kvass is worth a try!

Ingredients


It will be required for 5 liters of water:
  • - 250 grams of beet sugar.
  • - 20 grams of citric acid.
  • - 10 grams of tincture of peppermint.
  • - 2 tablespoons of soluble chicory.
  • - 11 grams of high-speed yeast.
  • - a sprig of fresh mint.

The sequence of preparation of kvass from chicory


1. Prepare a pot. Pour water into it. The fluid must be clean. The temperature does not matter, the main thing is not to use boiling water.

2. Pour sugar and citric acid into the pan. After that, pour in peppermint tincture. She will add piquancy to the taste of the future drink.

3. Immediately, pour in chicory. Stir all the ingredients with a spoon. Put the pot on the stove. The fire can be made large, it is important that the liquid is brought to a boil. As soon as it boils, immediately turn off the fire.

4. Cool the drink to a temperature of 35 degrees. Pour yeast. Mix everything well. Yeast must be completely dissolved in the drink. Pour kvass into finished bottles. The container must be sterile.

5. In order to make kvass aerated, you need to add to each bottle - 2-3 leaves of fresh mint. If there is no mint, then raisins will do. After cooking, kvass immediately sent to a cool place. Drink the drink chilled.
