But for his cooking at the stake need helpers. The most common of them is the barbecue. It is on it that everyone cooks favorite kebabs. Today on sale you can find many ready-made options for barbecue. Choose which one you like. Is it possible to make a brazier with your own hands? Of course yes! There would be the necessary materials, tools and dexterity. Consider the process of manufacturing a conventional classic brazier.
What is barbecue? In a simple way - an iron box of a rectangular shape in which firewood burns and smolders coals. In the heat of the coals and prepared kebab. To make them smolder in the walls, vents are made - for a better air flow. Of course, there are whole systems - stoves with a furnace, grill and exhaust pipe, on which you can cook kebab, barbecue, and grill. Today we will make a barbecue without frills - a classic of centuries.
What do we need? And you will need the following:
- sheets of iron with a thickness of 2-4 mm for the manufacture of the body and rods or fittings (with a diameter of at least 10 mm) for the manufacture of leg supports;
- Angle grinder (angle grinder), popularly known as the "Bulgarian" or "impeller";
- a welding machine (anyone that can weld our iron);
- a drilling machine or drill with a set of drills for metal and a brush nozzle;
- measuring instrument - ruler, tape measure or meter.
We start manufacturing with the selection of the right materials. Iron sheets can be of any shape. The main thing is their thickness. Often, purchased barbecues are so fragile and flimsy that they hardly serve one summer season. Therefore, the thicker the wall - the better. In addition, the more heat will be.
So, we find sheets (scraps) of iron and give them the grinder the desired shape.
And the shape is as follows - five rectangles: two 180x480 mm, two 180x270mm and one 320x560 mm. Accordingly, it will be the side, end walls and bottom-base. We draw the markings with a measuring tool and a regular sharp nail.
Next, evenly mark and drill holes in the workpieces: five in the side and two in the end. First, drill holes with a thin drill with a diameter of 6-8 mm, and then with a thicker drill with a diameter of 14-20 mm.
Immediately drill a large drill will be difficult. When drilling, select the lowest rotation speed. If desired, you can make holes in the lower base. It is also possible to replace large holes with a large number of small ones.
As a result, the blanks look as follows - see photo.
At the next stage, we weld the body parts together by electric welding, we clear them of burrs and carbon deposits with a drill with a nozzle or grinder. On the finished brazier body, every 9 cm you can cut small indentations for skewers in the upper edge of the side walls using a grinder.
Now it remains only to cut out and weld from the rods small legs or a stand - their shape and size is chosen by you.
The final result of our work is visible in the photo. The result was a small but very durable barbecue. Bon appetit and pastime!
