To create such a gift we need:
- white or beige candle;
- An ordinary paper napkin for serving (with a beautiful pattern);
- wooden or metal beads (in our case, disassembled old wooden jewelry was used);
- soft terry towel;
- a metal spoon;
- scissors;
- the fire.
Cut out the necessary pattern from a napkin.
Remove the white layers. Napkins come in two and three layers.
Please note that there are no white layers left - the pattern should be visible. Heat the spoon over the fire.
Only heat the inside of the spoon; the work surface (the outside of the spoon) should not come in contact with fire. Please note that at the place of heating a black film of soot may form, and if you mix the surface, it will be practically impossible to erase soot from the product. Attach the drawing to the desired place and start moving it up and down with a spoon, "slipping" a napkin into a candle.
The wax will begin to melt and protrude above the paper. The napkin must be drowned as deep as possible so that it is completely saturated with wax, otherwise it may flare up when burning. In addition, the deeper the napkin is under the wax, the more beautiful the candle will look. If you work in complete silence, you will hear how the spoon rustles on a napkin. But when the paper is completely covered with wax, the sound will disappear.
Start work from the middle of the picture, gradually moving towards the edges. If you work in silence, you will hear a spoon rustling on a napkin. But when the paper is completely covered with wax, the sound will disappear.
Repeat the procedure with a different pattern on the back of the napkin.
On the candle there will remain stains from wax, so it will be necessary to polish the candle.
After working with a hot spoon, wait 5 to 10 minutes for the wax to solidify slightly. Take a terry towel and polish the candle with slight pressure. If the wax hardens too cleanly and does not polish, heat the candle with warm air from a hair dryer.
The surface of the candle should become very smooth, and the stains should disappear.
Take the beads and use tweezers or scissors to heat one side over the fire.
Quickly attach the heated part to the surface and press firmly, plunging the bead into the wax.
Make the necessary drawing, repeat on the reverse side.
To create such beauty will take from 20 to 60 minutes. Hint: do not wash the used terry towel in the washing machine. Wax will remain on the fibers, and after washing, it can clog holes and ruin the machine. Only hand wash possible.
A beautiful and original gift is ready!
