If your scissors have exhausted their "resource" and become worthless, do not rush to throw them away - if you wish, they can be restored by slightly improving the design of the factory assembly. And for this you need a minimum of materials that can always be found at hand.

First of all, it is necessary to remove the plastic case, leaving only working metal blades with a blade. Next, you will need two pieces of steel round bar, in the end part of which using a grinder you need to make shallow longitudinal cuts to a depth of about 1-1.5 cm.

The main stages of work

The tail part of the metal scissors canvases need to be cut a little, and the resulting short tails should be inserted into the cuts in rods and grabbed by welding. The steel handles must then be well fixed in a vice and slightly bent with a hammer in the lower part.

Then, using a grinder, we polish the places of the welds and the surface of the handles to shine. Next, the two halves of the scissors are connected using a bolt with a nut of suitable diameter. To install the spring, it is additionally necessary to weld one short segment of a thin steel bar to the inside of the handles.

The spring itself can be removed from the old secateurs. Then it remains to cut the sharp edges of the scissors with a grinder and shorten the bolt stud so that it does not protrude. It is also advisable to smooth out the handles to a shine and "fit" a heat shrink tube on them.

Now the tool is completely ready. This is how scissors with a spring can be made from improvised materials that will work better than the factory ones.
