The design of this home-made clamp can really be called universal, since with this simple device you can perform different tasks: clamp long pieces of wood or metal, fix parts in the middle of a workbench (desktop), and even transfer large stumps using the guide as a handle. At the same time, it is very simple to make such a clamp.
The main stages of work
First of all, from a suitable section of a profile pipe 25x25 mm, with the help of a band saw or grinder, we cut three pieces of length 2, 5, 6 and 4 mm. Moreover, the last piece must be cut from two sides at an angle of 45 degrees.
The first two workpieces 2.5 and 6 mm long are welded together perpendicular to each other. And the third piece of the profile is welded to the guide from the profile pipe 25x25 mm. Welding points must be brushed with metal or with a cleaning disk.
Also, to assemble a home-made clamp, you will need another segment of the profile pipe, at the end of which we drill one through hole. We insert two nuts between the walls of the profile, after which we screw a long bolt with a wide washer into them. In the lower part of the bolt we drill a hole into which we insert the handle.
At the last stage, we proceed to the final assembly of the structure. It’s so simple, fast and most importantly - you can inexpensively make a home-made universal and practical home-made clamp from profile pipes with your own hands. See the step-by-step assembly process in the video on the site.
