Joiner's clamp is an indispensable tool in any home workshop. The main purpose of this hand tool is to securely fix parts and workpieces made of metal or wood, as well as other materials.

In this case, the author offers a simple design of a joiner clamp made of metal plates. With it, you can fix the workpiece in a stationary position, which can greatly facilitate the work of the master.

The shape of a homemade joiner clamp resembles a clothespin, however, a spring is not used in this design. Instead, the master decided to install a long bolt with a wing nut. You can also use a stud, but then two more ordinary nuts will be required.

The main stages of work

The first step is to cut off two narrow pieces of the plate (or you can use metal strips of suitable width). With the help of a grinder and an electric drill in the plates, the master makes longitudinal cuts.

At the next stage, “shorts” of metal will need to be welded along the edges of two plates - as a result, L-shaped parts should be obtained.

On the other side of the plates, large washers are welded, into the holes in which you need to insert a bolt, and fix it with a nut. Then the master inserts a pin into the slots in the plates (you can use a long bolt).

We recommend watching a video in which the master clearly shows how to make a carpenter's clamp from metal plates with your own hands.
