In the process of working in the home workshop or in the garage, you have to use different types of clamps. Moreover, many of them can be made with their own hands from available materials.

In this review, we will tell you how to make large pipe clamps with which to fix large workpieces. In particular, these clamps are often used for gluing wooden boards.

Structurally, a home-made pipe clamp consists of 2 independent heads that are mounted on a guide from a steel pipe. As you can see, nothing complicated - you just need to make and install the heads themselves.

The main stages of work

For the manufacture of one pipe clamp, the following materials will be needed: a piece of pipe with a diameter of 25 mm, a piece of angle 40 * 60 mm, a width of 50 mm, a stud M14, an elongated nut M14.

Also, a piece of a profile pipe 30 * 30 mm with a length of 80 mm, a piece of a square 12 * 12 mm with a length of 40 mm, a steering rod and two pieces of a thick-walled round pipe will be required.

When all the workpieces are cut, you can begin directly to the process of manufacturing a pipe clamp. From the tie rod of the car, cut off the head and weld it to a piece of corner.

The master welds a piece of thick-walled pipe to the lower shelf of the corner 40 * 60 mm. After that, an M14 pin is welded to the head of the tie rod, which is screwed with an elongated nut.

Further, the manufactured part is put on a guide from a pipe, at the end of which the author puts on a second piece of a thick-walled pipe. A square is set between the elongated nut and the piece of pipe - all three parts must be welded together.

Then the master begins to assemble the clamp. Details on how to make large pipe clamps with your own hands can be found in the video on our website.
