In the process of installing vertical bars (whether it is a door frame or something else), you usually need two people, or you have to invent different kinds of linings. In this review, we will look at how to make a simple supporting clamp for such work with our own hands.

In the store, such things are very rarely seen, and to assemble this device in the workshop is not difficult. It will only require pieces of a square pipe of various sections, a U-shaped profile made of thick metal, studs, nuts, bolts and various kinds of power tools.

First, cut a square pipe of a suitable size (from the drawing). Next, we cut the edges on the nut to the inner section of the pipe and then wind it onto a threaded rod. We insert the hairpin into the profile pipe and align it with one of the edges.

We weld our nut and stud to the pipe. Thus, the central part of the telescopic skids was obtained.

The main stages of work

The next step is to create a bed for fixing on the product. You need to take two pieces of a square pipe and weld them together, having cleaned all the welds. After that, we cut out the U-shaped profile of the same length in duplicate. This will be our bed.

We also weld square tubes to the profile in the center of the base. Next, mark future holes for tightening the upper telescopic tube and weld into place the holes of the nut.

Then we collect the adjusting hairpin. Screw the nut and put on the washer, wind the wing nut on top and weld it to the stud. We weld the washer to a square pipe.

We proceed to painting and assembling our homemade products. When working with a power tool, use a satellite (personal protective equipment). Details of the manufacture and assembly of the support clamp, see the video below.
