If you are seriously engaged in the manufacture of knives, daggers and other cutting items in a home workshop, then, for sure, often experiment to get an original and beautiful product.

In this review, we bring to your attention the idea - how to make a blade with an unusual pattern with your own hands. Perhaps someone will like this method and come in handy at work.

For the manufacture of the blade will require plates of various thicknesses (thick and thin). They need to be cut into pieces of suitable sizes, and then stacked, alternating between thick and thin blanks. Then the master clamps these plates with clamps and welds.

The main stages of work

At the next stage, the workpiece must be heated red-hot in the furnace, and then pressed. For this, the author uses a stationary installation - a blacksmith hammer.

Then the resulting rectangular bar of metal will need to be processed on a grinding machine and cut into three identical parts.

Next, the billet is again heated in the furnace red-hot and again we give it the shape of a rectangular bar. This "procedure" needs to be repeated again.

After that, on the anvil, the master gives the workpiece the shape of a blade with a shank, grinds and makes the blades lower. This is followed by quenching and tempering of metal.

Then grinding is carried out again and subsequent processing of the blade in a solution of ferric chloride. The final touch is the processing of the blade in a boiling solution of manganese phosphate and final grinding with sharpening the blade.
