In this review, the master decided to give a second life to an old steel table knife (still the Soviet "hardening").

Perhaps this idea will prove useful and interesting to someone. Of course, the steel in kitchen table knives is not the best in terms of hardness.

However, if you make a choice between recycling and restoration of a table knife, then the second option is still preferable.

First of all, it will be necessary to polish the blade and remove the relief protrusions on the handle.

Then the author processes the knife on the emery machine, giving it the necessary shape.

The main stages of work

At the next stage, the master makes a triangular cut in the handle of the table knife, and bends it at an angle. Then this place needs to be brewed.

Further, the author makes a guard from a brass plate. The handle can be made of different materials. In this case, the author uses fiberglass.

After that, glue the knife handle, which consists of three rectangular plates of fiberglass. In the middle plate you need to make a cutout for the shank.

After the glue has dried, we give the handle the desired shape and process it on the grinding, and then on the felt wheel.
