In this review, the author shows the process of making a concrete tabletop for a table. To do this, from pieces of chipboard or laminated (formwork) plywood, you need to make the shape of the right size.
The internal seams of the mold must be passed with silicone sealant. This is required in order to eliminate the leakage of the concrete mixture, or rather, the water that it contains.
Set the mold on a flat surface. Also, it will need to be set in level horizontally.
For the manufacture of concrete countertops, cement, a metal mesh for reinforcement, dyes for concrete, and fiber are needed.
The main stages of work
The first step will be to prepare a cement-sand mortar. For convenience, the author uses a drill with a nozzle for the mixer.
At the next stage, we add powder dye of the desired color to the solution. Mix thoroughly. Then add the fiber, and mix again.
In a similar way, we knead another bucket of the solution, but with the addition of a dye of a different color. Next, put the solution in a mold.
We level the mixture, lay the metal mesh on top, and slightly recess it.
Then with the help of a puncher we make a “vibration massage”, during which the solution is compacted and evenly distributed in shape. Air bubbles are also released. Leave to harden.
Grind the finished countertop and then cover with two layers of varnish with the addition of sparkles.
