If for some reason it is not possible to install a regular window in the room, then in this case, the issue of natural light can be solved using a light tunnel.

The light tunnel is a box of a certain length, which is "built" into the roof (like a skylight) and conducts sunlight through reflective elements.

As reflective elements of the light tunnel can be used pieces of mirror or foil. In the second case, the cost of construction will be lower.

In this review, the author shows how to make a light tunnel for a room without windows from improvised means. At the same time, the light from one tunnel is almost the same as from a 300 W bulb.

The main stages of work

First of all, the master cuts off the workpiece of the desired length from the chipboard. Then from them you need to collect the box.

Next, cut the mirror to size and glue it on liquid nails (or other mounting glue) to the inner walls of the box.

We remind you that you can use foil instead of a mirror. At the ends of the box, the author glues glass blocks.

Then it only remains to install the box. By the way, it needs to be made a little longer so that it rises above the roof level by about 30 cm. It will be easier to isolate it from precipitation in winter.
