It has become quite popular to weave a variety of things and objects from newspaper or magazine tubes. And this is not surprising, since the material is available to everyone, and the products are extremely beautiful. In this article we will weave a box with a lid in the form of the sun from magazine tubes.
To weave a box in the shape of the sun, you will need:
• magazine tubes - 79 pieces;
• cardboard;
• PVA glue;
• scissors;
• double sided tape;
• acrylic paints in white and yellow;
• varnish - impregnation for wood is colorless.
Twelve magazine tubes are divided into 4 bundles of 3 pieces each. The bundles are folded in a checkerboard pattern, and weaving begins with the working tube in a circle. The bottom is woven of six rows, while spreading the tubes from the bundles in different directions.
Smoothly switching to weaving the walls of the box, the tubes bend and turn into racks. 7 rows of dense weaving are performed, then proceed to the implementation of the "rope".
Two more branches are added to the work tube branches. Weave a rope with each pair of working branches, skirting two racks and going behind the third. Finishing the row, the working ends are hidden in the resulting volumetric weaving. Racks are wrapped for each other in the opposite direction of weaving.
The finished bowl of the box is thickly smeared with PVA glue and after drying, all protruding ends are cut off.
To weave the lid of the box, a circle with a diameter of 115 mm is cut out of cardboard. At equal distance from each other, tubes - racks are laid out. The surface of the circle is pasted over with double-sided tape and laid out in dense rows of magazine tubes. The racks are interlaced in 4 rows and closed by gluing the working ends of the branches.
The rays of the sun are performed by bending the racks and pulling them on the inside of the lid. The appeared racks on the reverse side are interwoven in one row and close the weaving by bending the same racks for each other. The entire structure is coated with glue and allowed to dry.
The finished product is painted with white acrylic paint, and the code dries out, individual elements of the box are applied with yellow paint. The last stage, the resulting casket - the sun is covered with colorless varnish.
